Rachid Talbi Alami: “The Path of Achievements” is an Innovative Communication Model that Enhances Trust and Establishes a Developmental Mindset Based on Listening
The Speaker of the House of Representatives and leader of the National Rally of Independents, Rachid Talbi Alami, stated that the “Path of Achievements” meeting in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, held today, Saturday, December 20, in Tangier, represents a key opportunity to closely understand the concerns and issues of citizens, strengthen trust in political work, and recognize the real potential found across different regions of the kingdom.
In his speech during the meeting, Talbi Alami emphasized that the National Rally of Independents has succeeded in creating new political discourses termed developmental thinking, which are fundamentally based on the principle of listening. He noted that this different communication model explains the tense reactions from certain parties. He remarked, “Angry reactions are the true indicator of our communication model’s success, as we have chosen the path of political creativity away from populism and opportunism, and this is an achievement we should be proud of.”
Talbi Alami considered the election of Aziz Akhannouch as the party president a turning point in its trajectory, having launched a new dynamic aimed at a comprehensive restructuring and organizing of the party by revising party organizations and establishing 19 parallel organizations, including youth and professional groups. He clarified that the party worked for two full years on organization and structuring, not with a narrow electoral logic, but with the intention of building a solid foundation for discussing the concerns of various groups and formulating realistic and executable programs.
He pointed out that the National Rally of Independents, since its founding 42 years ago, has remained present in the national political arena as a balance and positive element, whether in the majority or opposition, stressing that the party does not vie for power or chase it, because serving the homeland, citizens, and the state, and serving His Majesty the King, is not conditional on being in power—”we either are or we are not.”
Furthermore, he added that the party’s discourses have become a reference in development and political management, calling for their study and review. He affirmed that the “Path of Achievements” meetings can attract tens of thousands of members, saying, “If we open up the Moulay Abdallah Complex, 87,000 members will attend.”
Speaking of achievements, Talbi Alami congratulated His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, praising his wise leadership of Morocco in the journey of growth and prosperity, and appreciating the gains and international support for Morocco’s territorial integrity. He highlighted that the party’s electoral program was a clear contract with the citizen, free from populist logic, designed to respond to the priorities of the stage and align with the royal directives, placing the citizen at the center of all public policies.
He confirmed that the volume of public expenditure allocated to health, social support, health coverage, and education clearly reflects the identity of the government led by the party, pointing out that the success of this model reveals the dangers of some populist discourses that “live on misery and fragility,” exploiting poverty for electoral purposes.
Talbi Alami urged party members to continue political work in the style of the National Rally of Independents, which is based on seriousness and responsibility, away from empty slogans, emphasizing that the party’s parliamentary group includes the highest number of young members, along with significant female representation in the leadership of parliamentary committees and at the regional and municipal levels, a strategic choice reflecting the party’s belief in the role of youth and women.
In another context, he questioned whether the party that managed the major cities for two consecutive terms is truly responsible for the urban and structural defects seen in some cities, considering that mismanagement and populism are the real reasons, while current elected officials are trying to remedy imbalances accumulated over years of poor administration.
Talbi Alami concluded his speech by asserting that the education reform, led by the flagship Schools of Leadership project, will prove effective in the short term, explaining that students graduating from these schools will be more aware and capable of choice and discernment, which he believes explains some opponents’ discomfort with this reform initiative.
