A Study Day in Tiflet Highlights Updates to the New Criminal Procedure Code

The National Institute for Training Staff in Tiflet is set to discuss the updates to the new Criminal Procedure Code on Monday, December 22, 2025. This study day is dedicated to the heads of judicial police departments in correctional institutions, aimed at keeping pace with legislative changes and ensuring the proper implementation of relevant legal provisions.

The meeting aims to review the key updates introduced by the Criminal Procedure Code and to explore ways to implement them to ensure the correct execution of rulings and decisions issued by various courts across the kingdom, as well as to assess the mechanisms for activating the automatic sentence reduction provisions and study the conditions for their application in practice.

During the study day, various practical constraints that may hinder the optimal implementation of this reform initiative were discussed, along with proposals and practical solutions to overcome these challenges, contributing to the improvement of the performance of judicial police departments within correctional facilities and enhancing their effectiveness.

This meeting also served as an opportunity to strengthen communication and coordination between heads of judicial police departments and central officials, creating an open forum for dialogue and exchanging views on ways to enhance professional performance in line with the legislative and organizational updates affecting the sector.

The study day concluded with a series of directives and recommendations calling for intensified efforts and unified professional practices, emphasizing the need for all stakeholders to engage in the proper and effective implementation of this reform initiative.
