Tragedy in Khouribga: Entire Family Drowns in Water Tank
A family of five lost their lives on Tuesday evening, drowning in a rainwater collection tank in the Ouled Saad area, part of the Ouled Abda municipality in the Khouribga region.
The mother accidentally fell into the tank while passing by, prompting her husband to attempt a rescue. Unfortunately, he was unable to save her, and their three children also drowned while trying to help.
Authorities called upon the Civil Protection and Royal Gendarmerie, who arrived at the scene shortly after being notified. They managed to recover the bodies of the victims and transferred them to Hassan II Regional Hospital in Khouribga.
In this context, local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie have launched an investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident. The community of Ouled Saad and surrounding areas has been shrouded in grief and shock due to the magnitude of the tragedy that has struck an entire family.
