The Moroccan futsal team has secured its place in the semifinals of the Islamic Solidarity Games currently taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following a decisive victory over Afghanistan with a score of 4-0 in their third group stage match held today, Saturday, at the Green Hall.

The “Lions of the Hall” delivered a strong and convincing performance from the outset, with captain Sofiane Masrar opening the scoring in the early minutes, before Bilal Al-Baqali shone with a stunning hat-trick that further solidified Morocco’s dominance, complemented by a remarkable display from goalkeeper Sofiane Benslam who kept a clean sheet.

With this victory, the Moroccan team topped Group B with seven points, having drawn their opening match against Iran (2-2) and achieved a significant win over Tajikistan (7-1). They are set to face the runner-up of Group A in the semifinals on Sunday in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

Morocco is participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games – Riyadh 2025 with a delegation of 82 athletes representing the kingdom in 13 sports, including athletics, judo, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, as well as futsal and sports for people with disabilities. This presence reflects Morocco’s ambition to affirm its position on the Islamic sports scene.
