The European Union Ambassador to Morocco, Dimitris Tsitsikostas, visited the Euro-Mediterranean University in Fes (UEMF) accompanied by a delegation from the European mission, as part of efforts to strengthen academic partnerships between the EU and the Kingdom of Morocco.
During this visit, the ambassador emphasized the strategic role of the university in training specialized competencies in areas such as environmental transformation, digitalization, and entrepreneurship, noting that these fields represent shared priorities between Morocco and the EU, with the university playing a crucial role in addressing these challenges.
The European delegation toured various facilities on campus, including the Euro-Med sports center equipped with an Olympic swimming pool and a FIFA-standard stadium, as well as specialized laboratories and the Euromed Innovation center supporting student projects. The ambassador praised the quality of the facilities, asserting that some educational conditions even surpass those found in European universities.
In a meeting with students, discussions focused on the EU’s priorities, such as cyber security, digital skills, innovation, and the role of youth in enhancing cooperation between the European and Mediterranean shores. This visit aims to reinforce the partnership between Morocco and Europe in the fields of education, training, and scientific research, expanding opportunities for academic collaboration between both sides.
