Tangier: Public Prosecution Places TikToker Adam Benchroun and His Mother in Custody After Altercation with Neighbors
The Public Prosecution at the Court of Appeals in Tangier decided on Wednesday evening to place TikTok content creator Adam Benchroun and his mother under provisional detention following a violent altercation with several residents of their neighborhood, according to security sources.
This decision came after security services received multiple complaints from neighbors regarding “continuous disturbances” caused by the live broadcasts conducted by Benchroun on TikTok, which, according to the complainants, included “obscene language and actions that offend public morality.”
The Tangier Security Directorate, in an official statement, noted that it promptly responded to a widely circulated video on social media depicting the moment the altercation escalated into verbal and physical violence between the parties in a public street.
Initial investigations revealed that disputes between the neighbors and the content creator’s family were recurrent due to chaos and noise within the residential complex before it escalated into a direct confrontation that required police intervention to restore order.
The security services have opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution to determine all circumstances and legal responsibilities related to the case.
The incident has turned into a matter of public interest on social media platforms, with TikTok users and internet users calling for stricter legal regulations regarding the behaviors of some content creators who exploit live broadcasts in ways that incite chaos and tension within residential neighborhoods.
