Morocco’s national team achieves five significant gains during the international break in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations

During the international break in November, Morocco’s national team secured five important gains that enhanced its readiness ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations set to kick off on December 21.

The first of these gains was the positive results on the field, as the “Atlas Lions” defeated Mozambique 1-0, before crushing Uganda 4-0, showcasing the strong harmony between the players and their technical readiness for major tournaments.

The second gain is the improvement in the FIFA ranking, where the Moroccan team is expected to rise from 12th to 11th in the world, according to the specialized site football-ranking. This advancement will directly impact the seedings for the World Cup 2026 draw.

The third gain was the emergence of promising young talents, most notably left-back Salah Eddine, who made his debut with the national team, reflecting the coaching staff’s commitment to integrating young players and expanding defensive options.

The fourth gain was the return of experienced leaders, as star Romain Saïss returned after more than 15 months away, bringing experience and stability to the team, especially in defense, enhancing the squad’s ability to face crucial matches.

The fifth gain was the boost in morale and confidence within the team, resulting from significant victories and the integration of new and veteran players, ensuring comprehensive psychological and technical preparation before upcoming tournaments.

With these five gains, Morocco’s national team appears ready to face the challenges of the Africa Cup of Nations, motivated to maintain its status as one of the leading Arab and African teams, with a balanced mix of youth and experience within the squad.
