Morocco Faces Mali in Round of 16 of U-17 World Cup in Qatar
The Moroccan national U-17 team has qualified for the Round of 16 in the 2025 World Cup in Qatar after defeating the United States in a penalty shootout (4-3), following a 1-1 draw in regulation time. The match took place on Friday at the Aspire Zone Academy Stadium in Doha, as part of the tournament’s Round of 32.
Morocco managed to equalize against the U.S. after each team scored once, then clinched the penalty shootout to set up a clash with the Malian team, who advanced by defeating Zambia 3-1 in the same round.
The upcoming match between Morocco and Mali will serve as a true test of the “Atlas Cubs” abilities as the team aims to progress further in the tournament and achieve the best results amidst extensive local and international fan support.
