Mehdi Bensaid’s Speech at the National Conference: Victory of October 31 is an Opportunity to Renew the Moroccan Dream and Engage Youth

Mehdi Bensaid, a member of the collective leadership of the National Rally of Independents, delivered a speech during the national conference on the theme “50 Years of the Green March Post-October 31: Consolidating Sovereignty and Strengthening Territorial Unity.” He addressed the significant victory achieved by Morocco on October 31 in the international legal arena, deeming it a historic milestone that lays the foundation for a new chapter in the history of the Kingdom and the region.

Representing the party’s triadic leadership, Bensaid stated that this victory is added to Morocco’s illustrious record of achievements throughout history, from the victories of Yusuf ibn Tashfin at Zallaqa to Ahmed al-Mansour at the Battle of Alcácer Quibir. He emphasized that the accomplishment of October 31 reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to affirming its legal and diplomatic position on the international stage.

Bensaid affirmed that the party’s duty is to deeply reflect on future policies and measures that align with this historic event, recalling the fiftieth anniversary of the victorious Green March, which marked a pivotal moment in Morocco’s history and the recovery of its southern territories. He regarded the March as a symbol of a glorious past, a political present, and a vision for future development in the southern regions, enhancing Morocco’s regional and continental standing.

He urged for the inclusion of Moroccan youth, more educated and aware than ever, in shaping a new national dream and ambition that aligns with the royal vision, through political participation, voting, and national initiatives, to bolster trust between citizens and institutions.

Bensaid reflected on the experience of the National Rally of Independents since its inception, highlighting its role in providing solutions to counter the phenomenon of voter abstention, strengthening social protection, promoting democracy, and expanding the participation of women and youth, in line with the challenges facing Morocco in the 21st century. He referenced the constitutional reforms of 2011, advanced regionalization, and royal directives to enhance human capital and the renewed development model.

He emphasized that the continuous renewal of the party’s structures and elites reflects openness to new generations, empowering women, and attracting youthful talent while maintaining a spirit of constructive criticism within the party, ensuring its role as a political and social catalyst at the national level.

Bensaid concluded his speech by stating that Morocco’s diplomatic, sporting, and economic victories constitute a historic opportunity to renew the political elite and launch a new national dynamic, making youth a fundamental partner in shaping a comprehensive national vision that reflects Morocco’s pride in its past, the strength of its presence, and its aspirations for the future.
