His Majesty the King: Morocco will present an updated version of the autonomy initiative as the sole and final solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, affirmed that Morocco will refine and detail the autonomy initiative and officially present it to the United Nations, making it the only framework and reference basis for any upcoming negotiations. This initiative is considered a realistic and practical solution to end the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
In a speech addressed on Friday evening, following the United Nations Security Council’s vote on a new resolution supporting the autonomy initiative, His Majesty stated that the world is witnessing the entry of this file into a decisive phase at the international level, as the UN resolution clearly outlined the principles and foundations necessary for reaching a final political solution that respects Morocco’s legitimate rights and territorial integrity.
His Majesty also expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the countries that contributed to this qualitative shift with their constructive stances and ongoing efforts in support of justice and legitimacy, extending special thanks to the United States, under the leadership of his friend, President Donald Trump, for the pivotal role it played in paving the way toward a final resolution of this dispute.
His Majesty also conveyed his deep appreciation to Britain, Spain, and especially France, for their consistent support of the peaceful path led by Morocco. He praised the positions of the Arab and African brotherly countries, as well as the support from numerous countries worldwide that consider the autonomy initiative a fair and lasting framework for resolving this fabricated regional dispute.
