Abdelatif Hammouchi, the Director General of National Security and the Director General of Territorial Surveillance, stated during his speech at the 93rd General Assembly of Interpol that Morocco views international security cooperation as a fundamental lever to combat cross-border threats. He emphasized the necessity of adopting modern mechanisms and information exchange platforms that are both rapid and reliable.

The security official explained that the International Criminal Police Organization plays a crucial role in coordinating efforts among law enforcement agencies worldwide, especially at a time when crime patterns are accelerating due to technological advancements and misuse of the digital space. He called for intensified efforts and enhanced readiness of various security institutions to address these transformations.

In concluding his speech, Hammouchi reaffirmed Morocco’s confidence in the successful proceedings of the General Assembly, indicating the kingdom’s readiness to expand cooperation with the Interpol General Secretariat and member countries. He asserted that security is a shared responsibility, a collective achievement that requires unified will and ongoing support.

He ended his address by reciting the verse: “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”
