Abdelatif Hammouchi Presides Over the Annual Excellence Ceremony for National Security Employees on the Occasion of the 70th Independence Day Anniversary

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Independence Day, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdelatif Hammouchi, presided over the annual excellence ceremony organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Employees, held today, Tuesday, at the Mohammed V Theater in Rabat.

Attending the event were national security officials from various ranks and specialties, alongside retired police officers and the children and orphans of the national security family, as well as several institutional partners from universities, public institutions, and service companies linked to the foundation.

The ceremony honored academically outstanding students from the families of national security employees, with scholarships and financial awards presented to those achieving the highest scores in the baccalaureate exams for the 2024/2025 academic year. The value of the university scholarships is set at 50,000 dirhams, distributed over five annual installments, benefiting 25 students who have enrolled in higher education institutions. Additionally, exceptional financial support ranging from 1,000 to 8,000 dirhams was awarded to 68 beneficiaries present at the ceremony, while another 102 will receive similar grants during upcoming regional events.

Beyond academic excellence, the foundation also honored police employees who excelled in annual artistic and sports competitions, with the Laayoune Security Region team taking first place in the indoor football league, as well as recognizing winners in the Arab Cross-Country Championship held in Iraq, awarding them financial and material incentives.

For the first time, a group of retired national security officials over the age of 80 were honored with certificates of appreciation and material gifts, reflecting a commitment to bridging the past and present, and continually recognizing their professional journey.

The ceremony also recognized winners of the artistic creativity competition, which featured 37 employees displaying 52 artworks, along with showcasing creations from children of national security families who benefited from summer camps, embodying a blend of childhood spontaneity and artistic talent.

This year’s ceremony featured several innovations, including a doubling of beneficiaries for scholarships and awards for academic excellence, and the inclusion of retired national security staff within a comprehensive system of social services and healthcare, under the esteemed royal patronage of King Mohammed VI for the national security family.
