Cousumar Expands Smart Agriculture Programs for Sugar Beet in Doukkala and Abda

Cousumar Group continues to enhance its efforts in developing the sugar beet value chain by expanding rational fertilization and smart irrigation programs for the 2025-2026 agricultural season, particularly in the Doukkala and Abda regions, which are among the country’s major production basins.

This new initiative focuses on soil analysis to determine the fertilization needs of each farm, in conjunction with smart irrigation systems that allow for efficient water resource management amid ongoing drought conditions. The company is also digitizing the agricultural technical process using drones to monitor diseases and plant density, with a technical team of over 120 engineers and technicians available to support farmers.

Cousumar aims to increase the national area cultivated with sugar beet to 60,000 hectares, primarily relying on the fertile plains of Doukkala and Abda, which serve as a key foundation for the Moroccan sugar industry.
