On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in Rabat, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch received François Provost, the CEO of the Renault Group, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour. The meeting discussed strengthening the industrial system of the Renault Group in Morocco.

An addendum to the investment agreement between Morocco and the Renault Group was signed, aiming to develop the automotive sector and ensure the sustainability of the partnership between the two parties. This will enable the creation of 7,500 direct and indirect jobs. The addendum includes updating production tools and manufacturing lines, launching a new series of electric vehicles by 2030, establishing an engineering center for research and development by the end of 2025, and producing hybrid and electric cars locally.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Morocco continues to build on its achievements in the automotive industry through partnerships with global groups and by opening the sector to modern technologies to enhance its international competitiveness and showcase Moroccan talents. Notably, Renault Morocco produced more than 413,000 vehicles last year, with 90% of them exported to over 68 countries.
