Moroccan Digital Economy Continues Its Rise: Sector Exports Exceed 13 Billion Dirhams in the First Half of 2025
The Moroccan digital economy and services outsourcing sector has demonstrated strong performance in the first half of 2025, with export value reaching 13.4 billion dirhams by the end of June, marking an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period last year, according to recent data from the Foreign Exchange Office and the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
This upward performance confirms the ongoing dynamism within the sector, following a phase of stability in 2024, during which export value was 26.2 billion dirhams, a slight rise from 26.17 billion dirhams recorded in 2023.
Data indicates that Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) remains the main driver of the sector, capturing 40% of total exports in 2024 with revenues nearing 10.6 billion dirhams, followed by Customer Relationship Management (CRM), including call centers, with a share of about 37%.
The engineering services outsourcing (ESO) sector also experienced notable growth in the first half of this year, generating 2.58 billion dirhams in revenues, equivalent to three-quarters of its total earnings recorded throughout 2024, signaling an unprecedented expansion of this activity.
This improvement occurs within the context of national efforts to reinforce Morocco’s position as a competitive digital destination regionally, as the Foreign Exchange Office collaborates with the Ministry of Digital Transition to develop new indicators to monitor and evaluate digital export performance, as part of the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy aimed at supporting innovation, creating new job opportunities, and enhancing the added value of Moroccan products and services.
