The Moroccan Center for Cash Processing Expands Acceptance of JCB Cards and Enhances Electronic Payments in Morocco

The electronic payments sector in Morocco is witnessing a new development, as the Moroccan Center for Cash Processing (CMI) announced the expansion of acceptance for Japanese JCB cards to include all institutions connected to the national platform.

These cards have been accepted by merchants participating in CMI since 2023, but they are now more widely integrated into the national payments system. This expansion aligns with CMI’s strategy to strengthen its role as a unified cash solutions platform and to open avenues toward international markets.

The collaboration aims to facilitate payment transactions for JCB cardholders, both in traditional stores and on Moroccan e-commerce platforms, especially with the preparations underway to welcome a significant number of international visitors during major events such as the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host.

In this context, Rachid Sayhi, the General Director of CMI, stated that this partnership supports the gradual opening of the cash market and enhances the center’s mission to smoothly integrate all payment methods. CMI relies on advanced technological infrastructure that ensures security, compatibility, and a modern user experience.

The payment system supported by CMI includes a range of national operators such as Al Ahli Cash, Attijari Payment, CDM Pay, DamaneCash, Lana Cash, M2T, and Saham Payments, which were launched in May 2025.

This partnership also strengthens Morocco’s ambition to become a regional hub for finance and technology, aligning with the Digital Morocco 2030 roadmap, which places digitalization at the heart of national economic transformation.
