The End of “Al-Farsha”… The Fall of the Blackmail Site That Manipulated Khouribga’s Reputation

After four years of monitoring and confrontation, I write these lines to mark the end of what has been called the “Al-Farsha” site, which over time transformed from a page presented as informative into a means of blackmail and defamation. My involvement in this story was not from the sidelines, but from its very heart, as I was one of those targeted by its false campaigns, crossing the boundaries of criticism to intrude into personal lives and tarnish the reputations of innocent people in Khouribga, with no evidence, proof, or even adherence to professional principles.

From its inception, the site attempted to appear as a platform concerned with the issues of the city and the nation, but gradually its intentions were revealed, as it began publishing news without verification, exploiting the trust of its followers to disseminate false information aimed at revenge and securing financial gains. At that point, silence was not an option, so I chose to confront it publicly. I did not resort to insults or responding in kind; instead, I confronted it with documents, facts, and continuous documentation of the lies and slanders being spread. That experience was harsh but revealed to me the extent of the damage irresponsible media can inflict when it becomes a tool for distortion. Over time, after its attempts to drag in the names of security and judicial figures into unrelated issues, the site was forced to retract and issue an official apology to the public prosecutor’s office and the judicial police in Khouribga, a step that unequivocally confirmed it had no proof to substantiate its claims.

Khouribga, the city of honor, of phosphate and generosity, cannot remain a hostage to sites that practice blackmail in the name of media freedom. Media is a matter of honor and responsibility and should not be used as a weapon against people or a means for settling personal scores. I chose to confront this deviation not out of a desire for revenge, but because silence in the face of injustice is complicity, and because a sincere word has the power to unmask many facades, no matter how long it takes.

This experience, even if time fails to recount its full details, remains a testament that the truth prevails, no matter how long falsehood lingers, and that those who blackmail others in the name of media will one day find themselves facing the truth and the justice institutions that never sleep. What happened is not the end of a personal story but a universal lesson for anyone who uses platforms to spread lies and malign others. Information is a trust, and words carry responsibility; the city is too great to be disrespected by the actions of an individual or a site that has sold its conscience for fleeting gains.

Is it not time to punish those who conspire with him and provide him with news with intended ill motives?
