The Egyptian national team arrived in Morocco today, Monday, in preparation for their match against Djibouti in the ninth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The team is led by the twin brothers Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, and the match will take place this Wednesday at 5 PM local time (GMT +1).

A delegation headed by Ahmed Helmy El Sherif, a member of the Egyptian Football Association’s board, is accompanying the team, along with Mohamed Yahya Lotfi, president of the United Company for Sports, andTarek Abu El-Ainain, a board member of the federation.

The Egyptian team tops Group A with 20 points, five points ahead of direct pursuer Burkina Faso, which has 15 points. Sierra Leone is in third place with 12 points, followed by Guinea-Bissau with 10 points, and Ethiopia with 6 points, while Djibouti sits at the bottom of the standings with just one point.
