The Moroccan national under-17 girls’ team suffered its second defeat in the 2025 FIFA World Cup, losing to Italy 3-1 in the match held on the evening of Tuesday, October 21, at the Olympic Stadium Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, as part of the second round of group A.

Dounia El Masmoudi scored the only goal for the Moroccan team in the 81st minute, while Italy’s goals came from Giulia Galli in the 5th and 13th minutes, and Rachel Gudici in the 23rd minute.

The national team had opened its campaign in the tournament with a loss against Brazil, falling 3-0 on October 17, leaving them without any points after two matches and a negative goal difference of -5, according to the temporary group standings published by FIFA.

Morocco is set to face Costa Rica next Friday in the final match of the group stage, aiming for their first victory to improve their position within the group and keep their slim hopes alive for advancing to the next round among the best-performing bottom teams.
