Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Launches Ambitious Program to Enhance Digital Innovation and “Creative Technologies”

The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region has announced the launch of an ambitious program aimed at promoting digital innovation and creative technologies, allocating around 4 million dirhams for a joint project spanning 2026-2027. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to position digital innovation as a driver of economic growth and job opportunities in the region.

The program is founded on a multi-stakeholder partnership involving the regional council, the region’s governorate, the regional academy for education and training, the regional directorate of youth, culture, and communication, and the National Institute for Innovation and Advanced Technologies.

The initiative will include a range of practical measures, most notably equipping over 2,000 young people with digital and technological skills, and establishing incubators for entrepreneurs, designers, programmers, and cultural workers. Additionally, digital innovation clubs will be set up within educational institutions, and youth centers will host workshops on programming and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, 10 business incubators will be created, along with the inauguration of 20 digital innovation centers in educational facilities.

This program comes as part of the region’s efforts to foster a culture of innovation and digitization among youth, reduce geographical disparities in access to technology, and invigorate the local entrepreneurial ecosystem and digital innovation, contributing to the creation of new job opportunities and supporting the creative economy in the area.
