The “Sahara Marathon Solidarity Association” announces a new name and continues its social activities.

The “Sahara Marathon Solidarity Association” has announced its name change to “Children of the Sahara Solidarity Association” following the end of its partnership agreement with the new organizer of the Sahara Marathon. The association confirmed that this change does not affect its activities or social goals.

Patrick Boyer, the president of the association and former director of the Sahara Marathon, stated that the new name reflects the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting children and women through sports and solidarity initiatives, emphasizing the continuation of its message with the same energy and closeness to beneficiaries.

The association’s activities will persist in four main areas: sports through awareness and organizing events to enhance inclusion and self-confidence; empowerment via literacy campaigns and the development of the “Bija” cooperative to support women’s independence; education through academic support and organizing computer skills development courses; and finally, solidarity projects with concrete initiatives to improve living conditions, including the reconstruction of homes damaged by the Al Haouz earthquake.

Since its establishment, the association has benefited 3,915 individuals through its activities, contributing to education support, promoting sports, and implementing community projects that meet local needs. The choice of the name “Children of the Sahara Solidarity Association” marks a new phase in the association’s journey, clearly expressing the nature of its work and social message.
