Putin: National Unity Day Represents the Cohesion of Russians
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today, Friday, that National Unity Day embodies the cohesion of Russian society and the continuity of generations.
In a welcoming message to participants in the “Peoples of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States” festival, read by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu, Putin noted that the festival’s opening on the eve of National Unity Day holds symbolic significance, as this day represents the cohesion of the Russian community and the continuity of generations.
National Unity Day is celebrated in Russia on November 4 each year, while an extensive international festival titled “Peoples of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States” is held in Moscow for the first time under the auspices of the Russian Security Council, just before this celebration.
