Nadia Sabri Appointed Head of the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Succeeding Abdelaziz Idrissi
The National Museum Foundation has appointed Nadia Sabri as the director of the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, succeeding Abdelaziz Idrissi, as part of an administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening Moroccan museum institutions.
Nadia Sabri is an art historian, exhibition curator, and university professor. She also serves as the president of the Moroccan branch of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA Maroc). Her role will involve continuing efforts to democratize art, with a particular focus on youth, enhancing the museum’s art collections, enriching its programs and exhibitions, and increasing its presence on both the national and international artistic scenes.
On his part, Abdelaziz Idrissi will manage the museums department at the National Museum Foundation, overseeing cultural programs, inventory of collections, digitization of content, and management of both permanent and temporary exhibitions, in addition to cultural mediation and the valuation of collections.
This appointment reflects the National Museum Foundation’s desire to reinforce its organizational structure, professionalize its operations, and expand its social and cultural impact through a more strategic management of Moroccan museums.
