Morocco and Vietnam Sign Agreements to Enhance Judicial Cooperation and Combat Crime

Morocco and Vietnam have signed two bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries during the working visit of Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi to the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi.

An official statement clarified that the first agreement pertains to judicial assistance in criminal matters, aiming to enhance cooperation in investigations, evidence gathering, and the exchange of information between the two nations, contributing to the fight against transnational crime and promoting regional and international security and stability.

During this visit, Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi met with General Long Tam Quang, Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security, resulting in the signing of an agreement on the extradition of criminals, reaffirming the principle of accountability and enhancing cooperation in criminal justice and law enforcement.

The two parties also agreed to sign a protocol on the prevention of human trafficking next November, aimed at strengthening legal protection and combating crimes related to human trafficking.

These agreements reflect the solid friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam, and the two countries’ desire to develop mechanisms for judicial and legal cooperation in the service of justice, the rule of law, and sustainable development.
