Morocco and Niger: Strengthening Cooperation in the Health Sector
Morocco and Niger have decided to enhance their partnership in the health sector through a series of initiatives aimed at developing healthcare infrastructure, sharing medical expertise, and training health personnel.
Discussions between the health ministers of both countries focused on the following priorities:
-
Exchanging best practices and medical protocols, particularly in the fields of infectious and endemic diseases.
-
Continuous training for doctors, nurses, and technicians through the exchange of training sessions and joint seminars.
-
Technical support to modernize hospitals and clinics, especially in rural and remote areas of Niger.
These agreements fall within the framework of South-South solidarity, leveraging Moroccan expertise to strengthen resilient health systems in Niger, thereby positively impacting vulnerable populations’ access to healthcare services, and enhancing Morocco’s role as a regional player in supporting human development.
