The Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech has firmly denied circulating reports regarding the death of a citizen during the recent events in the Sidi Yusuf Ben Ali area.

A statement issued by the prosecutor’s office confirmed that the news is unfounded, indicating that the area has not recorded any deaths related to the recent protests.

The statement clarified that the individual whose death was mentioned was working as a street vendor on Al-Maslaha Street and suffered a sudden health crisis on October 1, 2025, collapsing next to his stall, away from the protest sites.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office added that the deceased was transported to Al-Sharifa Hospital, where he arrived dead, and his father stated before the judicial police and the prosecutor’s office that there were no suspicions surrounding the circumstances of the death. Following a medical examination of the body, it was handed over to his family for burial.

The statement emphasized that the death of the individual in question has no relation to the events in Sidi Yusuf Ben Ali, and all circulating rumors in this regard are baseless.
