King Mohammed VI calls on lawmakers to be serious and responsible in serving citizens

In his speech marking the opening of the new legislative year, King Mohammed VI urged lawmakers to embody a spirit of seriousness and responsibility in fulfilling their duties during the final year of the current parliamentary term. He emphasized that this phase requires the completion of legislative plans and the implementation of ongoing programs and projects.

His Majesty stressed that parliamentary work must, at its core, be honest and responsible in defending the interests of the nation and its citizens, free from any negative competition or contradictions between major projects and social programs, as the united goal is “the development of the country and the improvement of living conditions for citizens wherever they are.”

The King also called for enhancing communication and educating citizens about the procedures and laws that concern their daily lives, noting that this responsibility does not lie solely with the government but also encompasses political parties, elected representatives, the media, and civil society.
