Launched yesterday in Casablanca, the second phase of the third edition of the “Green Schools” program aims to instill a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among students.

The Casablanca City Council and the local development company “Casablanca Environment” stated in a joint announcement that this phase includes 22 public schools remaining out of 48, in addition to two charitable associations to be integrated for the first time into the program, thereby expanding the benefit pool and enhancing the spirit of solidarity and openness within the city.

The program will see the installation of 812 special bins for sorting waste within the benefiting institutions, alongside informational signs on proper environmental behaviors, with the goal of embedding responsible practices within the school environment.

The program also includes educational workshops utilizing a three-dimensional model that simulates the waste journey from neighborhoods to controlled landfills, as well as the presentation of educational capsules “Learn with Nasouh,” and interactive activities around cleaning and sorting professions, in addition to a motivational system awarding outstanding students the title of “Cleanliness Ambassadors.”

The announcement emphasized that this initiative falls within the commitment of the Casablanca City Council to establish a sustainable environmental dynamic within educational institutions, aiming to raise a new generation aware of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of their city, in alignment with the goals of the “Clean Casa” campaign to build a clean and sustainable city.
