Berada: Enhancing the Learning Environment is a Priority with a Comprehensive Plan for School Security and Cleanliness in Rural Schools

Confirming the principle of spatial justice in education, Mohammad Saad Berada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, stated that the draft law No. 59.21 concerning school education surpasses pedagogical aspects. It aims at improving working and study conditions in all educational institutions across the kingdom, particularly in rural and mountainous areas.

During a meeting of the Education, Culture, and Communication Committee in the House of Representatives, the minister emphasized, “We cannot leave a branch of a school in the mountains without security or cleanliness.” He highlighted the necessity of providing a safe and clean environment that befits students and educational staff, considering the dignity of the school as part of the dignity of society.

For this purpose, Berada pointed out that the law stipulates establishing partnerships with associations and local communities to support this program. The ministry is also working on a comprehensive vision for managing human resources to ensure a constant presence of school guards and cleaning staff, especially in remote areas with limited resources, in collaboration with local authorities.

The minister considered that improving infrastructure and providing supporting services are essential conditions for any educational reform, concluding that achieving justice and equity in education requires collective will and institutional coordination. He asserted that reform is not limited to curriculum development but also includes enhancing the learning environment.
