On Monday, October 13, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch welcomed a delegation of senior officials and economic actors from Anhui Province, China, led by the province’s Communist Party Secretary, Liang Yanshun, in Rabat.
The meeting focused on ways to enhance economic partnership between Morocco and China, in line with the shared directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The discussions followed up on the Moroccan delegation’s visit to Anhui in September 2024, which resulted in preliminary agreements to expand Chinese investments in the Kingdom, particularly in the automotive industry.
These investments are witnessing increasing growth, strengthening Morocco’s position as a reliable and attractive destination, and contributing to the creation of new job opportunities, a priority for the government.
The two parties also discussed cooperation opportunities in the field of energy transition, through the development of renewable energy projects and making green energy a key driver of sustainable development in Morocco.
