Suspect Arrested in Deadly Theft in Tangier After Weeklong Escape
The police force in the Tangier region successfully apprehended a 23-year-old man on the morning of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, who is suspected of involvement in a theft case linked to assault resulting in death and subsequent flight.
The suspect fled on October 7, after being arrested alongside an accomplice for violently robbing a victim. He managed to escape during the investigation for part of the stolen items and the weapon used in a nearby forest.
Following intensive ground surveillance operations, police identified his location in the “Eastern Al-Aouama” area, where he was found in a state of intoxication and aggression, in possession of part of the police handcuffs and a large knife.
The suspect has been placed under protective custody pending further investigation led by the public prosecutor’s office to delineate all criminal actions attributed to him.
