National security forces at Mohammed V International Airport successfully apprehended a French citizen of Algerian descent, aged 24, who was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
An official source clarified that checks on the suspect using the Interpol database revealed that he is wanted internationally based on a Red Notice issued by the central office in Paris, due to suspicions of his involvement in a case related to belonging to a criminal gang and the illegal possession of explosive materials.
The individual has been placed in custody pending extradition procedures, in accordance with the directives of the competent public prosecution, while the Interpol Rabat office has been tasked with notifying the French authorities of the arrest.
This action is part of efforts for international security cooperation and the tracking of individuals wanted globally for transnational crime.
