King Mohammed VI chaired a ministerial meeting on Sunday to discuss the general guidelines of the 2026 Finance Law, approve regulatory draft laws, and military decrees, in addition to several international agreements and high-level appointments in local administration.

According to the official statement, the Minister of Economy and Finance presented an outline of the legislation to His Majesty, which was prepared in light of royal directives and aims to support the anticipated national economic growth of 4.8% during the current year, while keeping inflation at 1.1% and the budget deficit at 3.5% of the gross domestic product.

The statement indicated that the 2026 Finance Law gives special attention to the health and education sectors, with a total financial allocation of 140 billion dirhams, along with the creation of over 27,000 new positions. This initiative aims to improve health infrastructure, including the opening of university hospitals in Agadir and Laâyoune, completing construction on ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, and continuing the development and equipping of university hospitals in Béni Mellal, Guelmim, and Errachidia, in addition to upgrading and modernizing 90 hospitals.

In the education sector, there will be an acceleration of early childhood education, enhanced education support services, and improved quality of education to ensure broader access for youth and the most vulnerable areas.

This is part of the “Morocco Rising” strategy, which focuses on integrated regional development, enhancing local characteristics, reinforcing advanced regionalization, and fostering solidarity among regional areas, while giving special attention to creating job opportunities for youth and supporting women in education and public service.
