Younes Skouri: Youth at the Heart of Government Employment Strategy
Younes Skouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, asserted that youth is a top priority in the government’s employment strategy. This statement was made during a visit to a vocational training center in the textile industry in Tangier, on the occasion of the launch of the 2025-2026 training season.
Skouri explained that the government is funding the training of more than 100,000 young people this year through vocational training programs, which are among the fastest ways to integrate youth into the labor market.
How Does the Vocational Training Program Work?
The program welcomes youth to company premises for six months of training:
- Two months of theoretical training, during which they acquire essential knowledge.
- Four months in the production line, applying what they have learned practically.
During the training period, trainees receive a salary and benefit from services such as transport and meals. The primary aim of this program is to qualify young people who have dropped out of school and equip them with the necessary skills for the job market.
The “Larinor” Training Experience
On her part, Houda Larinor, director of the “Larinor” foundation, confirmed that this program is beneficial for everyone. On one hand, the company gains trained labor that meets its needs; on the other hand, it helps youth facing difficulties in finding work, making professional and psychological integration easier.
At the end of the visit, the minister closely observed the workflow in the factory and how the vocational training program aims to support the competitiveness of Moroccan companies and enhance their export capacity.
