Donald Trump Calls on Supporters to Remain Calm and Respond Non-Violently to the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump urged his supporters to exercise caution and refrain from violence following the assassination of his influential ally, Charlie Kirk, during an event at a university.

Trump stated that Kirk was an advocate for peaceful approaches, emphasizing that the response should align with that principle, and mentioned that he has “indicators” about the shooter’s motives, without revealing further details.

More than 24 hours have passed since the incident that has shocked public opinion in the U.S., while authorities continue their efforts to identify the perpetrator. The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed it is pursuing several leads in the investigation, but no suspects have been apprehended so far.

Charlie Kirk, 31, who is considered a “martyr” by many right-wing supporters, was shot in the neck during a public debate at a university in Utah. The FBI indicated that the attack was specifically targeted, while the shooter’s motives remain unknown.

On Wednesday evening, Trump accused “radical leftists” of being behind the incident, but stressed the importance of caution. He announced that he would be awarding Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom “soon.”

Carson Keyes, a computer science student at Utah Valley University, remarked that Charlie had become “a symbol of free speech.”
