Pakistan’s Defense Minister: Our Nuclear Program “Will Be Available” to Saudi Arabia if Necessary
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated on Friday that the Pakistani nuclear program “will be available” to Saudi Arabia if required, in accordance with a new defense agreement signed between the two countries last Wednesday.
Asif said, “Under the defense agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, if aggression occurs against Pakistan or Saudi Arabia, both will defend each other, and other countries may join this arrangement.”
He added that “there is no justification to inform any country about the agreement,” stressing that “all our capabilities will be utilized.”
Asif clarified, “We have always talked about arrangements similar to NATO, and I believe it is the fundamental right of the countries and peoples in this region, especially Islamic nations, to defend their region, countries, and nations together.”
He further remarked, “There is no clause in the agreement preventing any other country from joining, nor does it prevent Pakistan from entering into a similar agreement with another country.”
