The Oulad Tidrarine Ansar Tribe Celebrates the 49th Edition of Its Religious and Cultural Season: A Meeting Between Memory and Modernity

Initiated by the Oulad Tidrarine Ansar Association for Development, Culture, and Heritage Preservation, and in partnership with all relevant parties, the Oulad Lmrabet community in the Essaouira region recently experienced a remarkable event: the 49th annual religious and cultural season of Tidrarine. This long-standing tradition, which intricately weaves together spirituality and heritage celebrations along with cultural and developmental aspects, brought together guests from various parts of the kingdom alongside friendly and sisterly tribes.

A Spiritual and Healthy Launch with Notable Attendance

The festivities kicked off with a rich program featuring honored guests, poets, and elders, intertwined with poignant Quranic recitations, and the national anthem that united attendees in a spirit of pride in their identity. Alongside its spiritual essence, the general program included an informative seminar on women’s health and early cancer detection, demonstrating the organizers’ awareness of the social and health dimensions of the season. It also stood out with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to participants, alongside an evening of poetry and music blending spiritual sensitivity with the beauty of words and melodies. Performances included folk segments of Hassani heritage and masterpieces of the Kadra art form, reflecting the depth of Morocco’s cultural diversity.

The season witnessed a notable moment with the reception of the provincial governor and his accompanying delegation, who began the meeting with verses from the Holy Quran. Following that, welcoming words were delivered by the Association President Mr. Abdelrazak Tidrari and the head of the municipality. The official opening ceremony was marked by substantial attendance, including the provincial governor, the secretary general, the head of the scientific council, the regional commander of the royal gendarmerie, the regional commander of auxiliary forces, alongside the deputy president of the West African Economic and Monetary Union and the chief of the Ansar in Mali, and a member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, as well as public authority representatives, the president of the provincial council, and an array of parliamentarians, elected officials, local authorities, and the head of the Oulad Lmrabet municipality. The opening also welcomed children of the Oulad Tidrarine Ansar tribe from within and outside the country along with distinguished guests from sister tribes, giving the event a celebratory and inclusive character that reinforced values of solidarity, brotherhood, and family ties.

Following this, a series of high-level intellectual seminars commenced, discussing pivotal issues such as spatial justice, autonomy, Moroccan financial relations, and the Atlantic Initiative as an African dynamism. These sessions were characterized by contributions from civil society representatives and influential tribal figures, adding a participatory dialogue reflecting the spirit of collaborative democracy and integrated development, and highlighting the effective role of the season in parallel diplomacy and serving the constants of the national cause in harmony with the option of autonomy.

The season culminated with the raising of a message of loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, renewing the pledge and fidelity to the revered Alaouite throne, before the program continued with a vibrant heritage evening illuminated by the colors of authentic Hassani music.

The season also featured cordial sessions during a ceremonial tea for guests, followed by a message of thanks to the local authorities and attendees in an atmosphere of collective gratitude that showcased the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that characterized this event. The pages of the season were turned in a warm ambiance, bidding farewell to guests with recognition and gratitude, with hopes for renewed meetings in future editions.

Between Heritage and Development

This season was not merely a celebratory gathering, but a station for reinforcing the values of cultural and religious heritage as a unifying element of collective memory, while also serving as a platform for pondering contemporary issues related to health, development, and territorial politics. Thus, the 49th season of Tidrarine once again embodied the potential of traditions to be a lever for development and an everlasting spirit dwelling in the community’s consciousness.

In his speech on this occasion, Mr. Abdelrazak Tidrari, President of the Oulad Tidrarine Ansar Association for Development, Culture, and Heritage Preservation, expressed his profound pride in the occurrence of the 49th edition of this religious and cultural season, emphasizing that this gathering has transcended into a spiritual, cultural, and social beacon that reaches beyond the tribe to encompass the entire nation. He affirmed the association’s ambition, through this season, to instill values of solidarity and mutual support, and to highlight the richness of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Oulad Tidrarine Ansar tribe as an integral part of national identity. He underscored that this initiative aligns with the noble royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, advocating the preservation of intangible heritage and enhancing social and cultural ties among the people of the country. The association’s president concluded his remarks by extending heartfelt thanks to all attendees, including official dignitaries, tribe members, and their esteemed guests, affirming that their support serves as a motivation to continue efforts to valorize this heritage and augment its future prominence.

It is worth noting that the provincial governor of Essaouira played a significant role in the success of the 49th edition of the Oulad Tidrarine Ansar religious and cultural season through his continued support and persistent encouragement of parallel diplomacy, establishing bridges of openness toward the African depth, in line with the noble royal tendencies aimed at enhancing South-South cooperation and engaging in major national projects.
