The Moroccan Ambassador to Kuwait: Morocco Aims to Expand Trade Partnership and Attract Investments

Mr. Ali Ben Issa, the Moroccan ambassador to Kuwait, stated that the Kingdom is looking to double the volume of trade exchanges with Kuwait and elevate it to levels that reflect the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.

This came during the opening of the Kuwaiti-Moroccan business forum, organized in Kuwait over two days, initiated by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development and the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters, in partnership with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and with broad participation from businesspeople from both sides.

The Moroccan ambassador explained that the forum serves as a practical platform to expand economic cooperation and launch direct partnerships between Moroccan and Kuwaiti companies. He highlighted that Kuwaiti investments in Morocco have seen a significant increase over the past three years, amounting to $1.5 billion.

He noted that trade exchanges have recorded their highest growth since 2018, with Moroccan exports to Kuwait exceeding 216 million dirhams, while Kuwaiti imports surpassed 1.3 billion dirhams.

He also indicated that the current context offers promising investment opportunities, considering the major projects being launched by Morocco, particularly the preparations to host the 2030 World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal, along with the massive infrastructure projects accompanying this event.

He added that the Kingdom of Morocco continues to improve the business climate by implementing the new investment charter, simplifying administrative procedures, and providing financial and tax incentives, thereby attracting new investors and enhancing the competitiveness of national companies.

Ben Issa emphasized the robust historical relations between Morocco and Kuwait, which enjoy special attention at the level of economic cooperation, whether through projects funded by Kuwaiti institutions or direct investments from individuals and companies.

This forum aims to showcase investment opportunities in Morocco and open direct communication channels between Moroccan and Kuwaiti businesspeople, reinforcing economic partnership and supporting the openness of Moroccan companies to Gulf markets.
