Mauritanian President Undertakes Partial Cabinet Reshuffle Including 11 Ministries
President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani announced on Thursday evening a partial cabinet reshuffle, affecting 11 out of 33 ministries, aimed at restructuring the government and enhancing executive performance, according to a statement from the presidency.
The reshuffle included key ministerial portfolios, such as: Justice, Islamic Affairs, Economy, Finance, Health, Fisheries, Agriculture, Animal Production, Real Estate, Housing, and Labor.
Under this reshuffle, new ministers were appointed to the following positions:
- Mohamed Ould Sowi’dat as Minister of Justice.
- Pilot Al Fadl Ould Sidaty Ould Ahmed Loli as Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education.
- Abdallah Suleiman El Cheikh Sidya as Minister of Economic Affairs and Development.
- Koudiourou Moussa Ankinor as Minister of Finance.
- Mohamed Mahmoud Ely Mahmoud as Minister of Health.
- Mariem Beigle as Minister of Civil Service and Labor.
- Al Mokhtar Ahmed Bousif as Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Infrastructure.
- Sid Ahmed Ould Abou as Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty.
- Sid Ahmed Ould Mohamed as Minister of Animal Development.
- Mamadou Mamadou Anyank as Minister of Real Estate, State Property, and Land Reform.
- Al Nahh Hamed Meknas as Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and Land Improvement.
Additionally, the presidency announced earlier on Thursday the appointment of Mohamed Mahmoud El Sheikh Abdullah Ould Bey as an advisor to the president.
