The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration, through the local prison administration in Souk al-Arba, has issued a clarifying statement regarding a video circulating on a certain website, which shows a sewage drain in front of the prison and claims that it has been leaking for two weeks, causing unpleasant odors for nearby residents.

The administration confirmed that the mentioned drain is not connected to the local prison, explaining that the sanitation connection point for the facility is located behind it, not in front of the main entrance as depicted in the video.

The statement further noted that the prison administration promptly contacted the relevant service of the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water to address the issue related to the leaking drain.

In this context, the administration condemned the dissemination of unverified news that could mislead public opinion and damage the reputation of the public facility, warning the video publisher against continuing this “irresponsible behavior.”
