The government council approved a new decree to enhance the fight against doping in sports.
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the government council held a meeting where it approved draft decree No. 2.25.431, which amends decree No. 2.18.303 issued on July 5, 2019, regarding the implementation of Law No. 97.12 pertaining to the fight against doping in sports.
This decree, presented by Minister of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports Mohamed Saad Berrada, comes in response to royal directives aimed at enhancing the status of national sports and increasing its competitiveness at both national and international levels.
The new text aims to align previous provisions with the updates established by Law No. 06.23, which modifies and complements Law 97.12, with the goal of bolstering national efforts to combat doping, recognized as a threat to the integrity of competition and the health of athletes.
Additionally, the project seeks to enhance the effectiveness of the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency and ensure its independence in carrying out its duties, in accordance with international standards, thus contributing to the promotion of values of transparency and integrity within the Moroccan sports landscape.
