The police in the regional security precinct of Ouled Taima arrested three individuals, including a woman, on Monday. Their ages range from 19 to 45 years, suspected of involvement in a theft using a break-in and practicing sorcery.
According to security sources, two of the detainees had stolen a significant amount of money from the home of a relative before being cornered by neighbors, prompting them to throw the stolen cash off the roof of the house, an incident documented in a circulating video on social media.
The immediate intervention by the police led to the arrest of the suspects, along with the homeowner, who is believed to have exploited her residence for sorcery under the guise of traditional healing. It was found that the confiscated amounts of money might originate from this illegal activity.
Search operations also uncovered chemical substances, photographs, and tools used in sorcery practices, in addition to an amount exceeding 6 million dirhams in Moroccan currency and foreign currencies.
Two of the detainees have been placed in police custody, while the woman is undergoing judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, aimed at uncovering all circumstances and backgrounds related to this case.
