The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced details of the solidarity grant allocated to support clubs participating in continental competitions during the current season, with a total value of $100,000 for each club.
According to a statement from CAF, $50,000 will be disbursed to each team before the start of the preliminary rounds to assist with travel and preparation expenses for the matches. Additionally, clubs that do not advance past this stage and reach the group stage will receive an extra $50,000 as financial support to help cover some of their costs.
This decision aims to enhance the resources of continental clubs and alleviate their financial burdens, especially for those that exit the competition early. The continental body sees this initiative as a means to support the development of African football and ensure greater equality of opportunity among the participating teams.
