The Administrative Court Dismisses the President of the Ahlaf Community in Benslimane Province

The Administrative Court in Casablanca has dismissed Shaimaa Zayed, the president of the Ahlef municipality in the Benslimane province and a member of the Progress and Socialist Party. This decision, made yesterday evening, marks the end of her political career at the head of the municipal council. The ruling was a response to a request from the provincial governor, based on a report from the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior.

The report, compiled during an inspection mission, revealed several irregularities in the management of municipal affairs, prompting the governor of Benslimane to initiate legal proceedings that led to Zayed’s dismissal. With this decision, Zayed becomes the fourth municipal president in the province to be removed from office in a short period.

The succession of dismissal decisions has thrust the Ahlef municipality into the spotlight, as it has become one of the local governments most frequently subjected to these actions, reflecting the significant administrative and financial mismanagement observed there, and indicating a tightening of judicial oversight of local officials.

Attention is now turning to the Fdalat municipality, where the provincial governor has issued inquiries to its current president, former president, and other advisors concerning allegations of conflicts of interest and mismanagement. This move is expected to open the door to new cases that may also reach the administrative court.
