CCTV Cameras to Protect Public Toilets in Casablanca from Vandalism

As part of its efforts to safeguard public spaces and public properties, the security authorities in Casablanca have decided to enhance surveillance by installing high-tech cameras in all public toilets across the city. The aim of these measures is to preserve the facilities, deter vandals, and ensure a clean and safe environment for both residents and visitors to the economic capital.

This decision came after several public toilets suffered significant damage, which sparked public outrage due to the recurring acts of vandalism in these facilities.

According to a source revealed to Express TV, anyone caught on the cameras intentionally vandalizing these properties will face legal prosecution, with penalties ranging from three months to two years. The high-quality cameras will also enable the precise identification of the faces and identities of the vandals.

Through this initiative, the authorities aim to put an end to the chaos witnessed in many public spaces, which have cost millions in damages, while some citizens continue to deliberately or inadvertently deface them.
