Security forces in the new Salé area, in collaboration with the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance, thwarted a large smuggling operation involving 7,200 narcotic pills intended for distribution on the evening of Monday, September 22, 2025.
The shipment was discovered inside a vehicle on the highway in the payment area, with the driver coming from one of the northern cities of the kingdom.
The suspect has been placed in custody following orders from the competent public prosecution to investigate the origin and routes of smuggling these pills and to identify any potential connections and extensions of the criminal network.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the national security services and the General Directorate for National Territory Surveillance to combat drug trafficking and protect citizens from the associated risks.
