Saadi from Essaouira: Investing in Human Resources is the Key to Development
A member of the National Rally of Independents, Mr. Saadi, stated during a party meeting held in Essaouira that infrastructure remains a fundamental pillar for development; however, it is insufficient unless deeper investments are made in human resources.
Saadi emphasized that roads are “the gateway to development,” and that access to water and housing are essential conditions for a decent life. He pointed out that the government’s and political parties’ pivotal role lies in empowering individuals through education and training while promoting values. He added, “Our country’s resources may be limited, but what has been achieved on the ground is significant, considering the advancements made across various sectors.”
The party leader noted that Morocco is currently experiencing a major developmental momentum, manifested in strategic projects such as the high-speed train network and ports, particularly the Tanger-Med port, which has become an international benchmark. This is in addition to airport expansions and infrastructure development.
Saadi stressed that these achievements have been realized thanks to the proactive vision and energy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, along with the competence of Moroccans, highlighting that “the true wealth of Morocco lies in its human resources.”
Regarding education, he highlighted that the current government has successfully generalized preschool education for the first time, benefiting around 80% of Moroccan children, whereas it was previously limited to affluent families. He considered expanding the network of universities and accessibility for students to be crucial for equal opportunities and facilitating academic attainment.
Saadi concluded his speech by affirming that the future of development in Morocco lies in continued investment in people, underscoring that the real challenge is to place human resources at the heart of all public policies.
