Russia Completes Construction of Its New Rocket “Soyuz-5” with First Test Launch Scheduled for December 2025
The Russian space center “Progress” has announced the nearing completion of the new launch vehicle “Soyuz-5,” paving the way for the final testing phase before its inaugural launch.
This rocket is expected to replace the “Soyuz-2” series, offering the capability to place satellites or crewed and uncrewed vehicles weighing up to 17 tons into low Earth orbit. Program experts confirmed that production and assembly processes have reached their final stages.
The first test mission for “Soyuz-5” is scheduled for December 2025, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of Russia’s space fleet.
