FIFA announced yesterday the official mascots for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held for the first time across three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The three mascots, “Maple” representing Canada, “Zayu” for Mexico, and “Clutch” for the United States, reflect the culture and national spirit of each host nation.
Each mascot embodies a unique character, with Maple characterized by flexibility and leadership, Zayu by speed and celebration of Mexican heritage, while Clutch embodies the spirit of adventure and motivation prevalent in the United States.
The mascots will play a part in the entertainment atmosphere of the tournament and will debut in video games through FIFA Heroes, allowing young fans to engage with their favorite mascots and stars on multiple platforms.
The upcoming World Cup is set to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, featuring 48 teams and will see the mascots prominently displayed in events and official merchandise for the first time.
