Morocco Calls from Cairo for an End to the War on Gaza and the Opening of Border Crossings to Deliver Aid
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, stated today in Cairo that Morocco, led by King Mohammed VI, considers peace a strategic option and rejects the logic of crisis management in response to Israeli policies.
Bourita emphasized, during the 164th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, the need for an immediate return to negotiations as the only way to end the conflict, calling for a ceasefire and the opening of all crossings to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza, ensuring the safe return of displaced persons to their homes.
The minister noted that the Moroccan monarch ordered the launch of a humanitarian air bridge to Gaza that delivered 300 tons of food and medical aid, while also continuing to support the people of Jerusalem through the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
Bourita praised the international momentum surrounding the recognition of the State of Palestine, recalling that Morocco hosted the fifth meeting of the International Coalition for the Two-State Solution in May, in partnership with the Netherlands.
The Moroccan official reiterated Rabat’s support for the political process in Syria to ensure its unity and stability, affirming Morocco’s commitment to enhancing Arab cooperation and reforming the Arab League to align with the aspirations of the peoples toward solidarity and development.
